Job vacancy: Administrative and Accounting Assistant

Théâtre Varia is looking for an administrative and accounting assistant for a permanent contract of 26 hours per week, to be spread over four days. The role is to be filled as soon as possible.

Role and responsibilities

As part of the Theatre’s administrative and accounting team, the successful candidate will report directly to the Administrative and Financial Director, working closely with the Head of Human Resources & Production Manager as well as the Administrative and Financial Coordinator.  Their main role will be to assist them by providing secretarial support and handling a range of administrative and accounting tasks.

Job description
• Provide secretarial support for the department;
• Draft and finalise letters and administrative and accounting documents;
• Enter accounting data: sales, purchases, credit notes, etc.;
• Monitoring accounts receivable and payable;
• Assisting with day-to-day human resources management and the sending and receiving of various employment-related documents;
•    Assist with the preparation of documentation to support grant applications;
• Handle logistics for the Theatre’s various events and productions: booking train tickets, hotel rooms, etc.;
• Other miscellaneous administrative tasks as required by the department.
 

Required qualifications
• You have an interest in the cultural sector and the performing arts;
• You are organised, reliable, independent, responsive and a team player;
• You have secretarial experience and a basic understanding of accounting;
• Knowledge of accounting software is an advantage;
• You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and are generally computer literate.

• A permanent contract for 26 hours per week, spread over 4–5 days, to start as soon as possible (annual leave to be taken during the theatre’s annual closure between July and August);
