At the Théâtre Varia, Café Ania (run by The Good Place) extends the theatre experience far beyond the performances themselves. Open to everyone, whether you have a ticket or not, people come here to have a drink, discover cultural events or simply meet up in the heart of Ixelles.
A café that pulsates to the rhythm of the Varia
Echoing the theatre’s programme, Café Ania welcomes Brussels-based collectives and cultural organisations throughout the season, inviting them to devise events linked to the performances and their themes. DJ sets, talks, listening sessions, pop-up markets and meet-ups: the formats vary depending on the guests and the mood.
On Wednesdays, it’s time for the collectives’ aperitifs, when they take over the café and invite their communities to come together in a friendly atmosphere. Premieres, after-parties, meet-the-artists sessions and other events also punctuate the season, making Café Ania a place for socialising and discovery, even outside performance times.
On site, you’ll find affordable local and artisanal food, as well as a selection of drinks from Brussels breweries. Whether you’re looking to extend an evening at the theatre or simply share a drink, Le Café Ania is open to everyone, with or without a theatre ticket.
A venue for private hire
Birthdays, evenings with friends, receptions or business events: Le Café Ania can also host your events in a unique setting in the heart of Ixelles.
Private hire is also available at Varia’s venues, the Theatre (78 Rue du Sceptre) and the Studio (154 Rue Gray), for conferences, seminars, cocktail parties, corporate events or private parties.
